2023-08-21 21:55:59 +0000 UTC View PostRecognize whats behind me or are you just starting at my behind ๐๐? Youโre looking at the famous Duomo Di Milano cathedral, located in northern Italy. ฮ was fortunate enough to see this architectural master piece in person and here are 4 fun facts I learned about the cathedral: 1.) This bad boy took over 6 centuries to build (579 years) they (as in the Aliens ๐ฝ) started building in 1386 and completed it in 1965. 2.)The Duomo is the third largest cathedral in the world 3.)Duomo is known for its large displays of gothic and flamboyant gargoyles an figures inside and outside the church, in total there are over 4,000 different statues. 5.) Lastly there are archaeological ruins that still to this day lay under the cathedral. Back in the Roman times, when Milan was known as Mediolanum, there were two churches and a baptistery in the location of the Duomo. Here stood the ancient basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, Santa Tecla, and the Baptistery of San Giovanni alle Fonti. The baptistery was the first octagonal-shaped baptistery in Christianity, and St. Augustine was baptized by St. Ambrose on the eve of Easter 397. The remains of St. Tecla and the 8-sided shape of the baptistry are still visible in the archaeological section of the cathedral. This particular part of Duomo is the most interesting to me. If you plan on visiting Milan this is a absolute must see in the city!! - ciao Mila ๐ btw please comment if anyone actually reads my posts ๐

If youโre traveling this summer to the Greek islands definitely stop by and make a reso here, tables are tight so book in advance, this authentic Greek restaurant only has 10 tables and is always in high demand and highly recommend โจ๐ - Filakia Filia

2023-04-20 23:52:34 +0000 UTC View PostIโve lost count on how many times Iโve visited New York City, but when Iโm here I always come to my favorite bar - King Cole, located inside the St. Regis Hotel in Manhattan. Bet you didnโt know Itโs the birthplace of the famed Bloody Mary cocktail, which is one of my favorite breakfast drinks however I came here for something a little more interesting to look at. The king Cole bar is home to the renowned Maxfield Parrish mural. Swipe left on my pics to see the full mural. This painting was not originally designed for the St Regis. In 1906 owner Jacob Astor asked Quaker artist Maxfield Parrish to paint a mural based on the welsh nursery rhyme (โole king coleโ) for the bar inside the Knickerbocker hotel, which is now renamed the St Regis. So whether your in the mood for a Bloody Mary or want to take a glimpse of this mural come on down between 5th avenue and 55th street to check it out !
