I heard a beautiful quote this morning on this topic that got me thinking - “A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms.” – Zen Shin 💛 In the world we live in its easy to constantly compare our lives to others. This can be damaging to our wellbeing. In those moments of comparison we only see what we lack compared to another. This focus of lack can eat us up inside and make us blind to the countless things we have to be grateful for and our own unique gifts. When we take a step back and focus on our own “blooming” or growth independent of we see around us, we tap into our own authentic gifts, insights and live more satisfying lives. The flower doesn’t care what is next to it and how it’s blooming in comparison to the next flower. It only worries about blooming itself, and fulfilling it’s own purpose. And by doing so, it gives so much to the world. Let’s bloom 💗
